Lesley Bush

Lesley M. Bush, a native of Polk County, North Carolina, graduated from Mars Hill College (now Mars Hill University) in 1988 with a bachelor’s degree in religion.  He continued his education at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Kentucky, and was ordained in 1989.

He began his formal music education at age six, studying with Charlene Means; became a church pianist at age 11, and has been continuously involved in church music since that time.

Bush is a former member of the North Carolina Baptist Singers, and has been the accompanist for the Third Century Singers (Community Chorus of Goldsboro, North Carolina). For six seasons, Bush was the conductor of the Community Chorus, in Tryon, North Carolina.  He is an officer of the Rutherford County Historical Society.  He has served as photographer and research assistant for 19 historical publications. He enjoys family genealogy and is a member of the Sons of the American Revolution.

He is in his twelfth year as the Minister of Music and Director of Communications at Tryon Presbyterian Church.  He lives in Rutherfordton, North Carolina. 

 



Ben Chumley

We're wild about our new conductor, Ben Chumley (Director of Music at the United Methodist Church in Spartanburg and music director, pianist, performer and workshop instructor for area community theaters and college theater departments), with the talented Pam McNeil accompanying, and it's not too late to come and sing with us! Rehearsals are on Tuesday nights from 7pm to 9pm at the Tryon Presbyterian Church at 430 Harmon Field Road, 



Ann Marie Kuether
Christmas 2015

Anna Marie Kuether is currently enjoying her 28th year of teaching choral music in NC Public Schools.  Her career has given her the opportunity to work in several locations including Wilkes, Durham, Polk, and Henderson counties. Anna Marie received her BM from Appalachian State University and her MM in Music Education from UNC-G.  In addition, she has actively participated in conducting workshops and classes through the years led by such master conductors as Axel Theimer and James Jordan. 

Anna Marie is an active member of the North Carolina Music Educators Association, National Association for Music Education, and American Choral Directors Association.  This year she will have the distinct honor of hosting the NCMEA Solo/Small Ensemble Music Adjudication for NC West District #3.

Anna Marie serves as Church Pianist at Mountain Hill Community Church in Landrum, SC.  She also enjoys directing plays and musicals for local schools and community theaters as well as working as vocal coach and pit pianist.

Anna Marie is the proud mother of a daughter, Samantha, who resides in Augusta, Georgia.  Anna Marie lives in Tryon, NC with her husband, Dave, and her two “fur-babies” Penny and Chloe.
